Help us keep our mission of environmental education and land stewardship alive. In turn, you will work with our staff and other volunteers, gain valuable knowledge, partake in unique experiences and deepen your environmental awareness.

*Note – Availability is determined by the seasons, weather, skills offered and supervision/leadership available. Volunteers that are able to come weekly are extremely valuable to us. Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us!
Outdoor/Special Events: Experienced volunteers can lend a hand at tabling events at earth day festivals, local street fairs, and at open houses on the weekends. As a representative of the EMNC, you will be providing information about our programs. This job requires being able to carry and set up a card table folding chair and being friendly and knowledgeable when handing out brochures. Seasonal (on-call)
Bird Care: Work with one of our educators in the aviaries of our Screech Owl, Red-tail Hawk and Kestrel. This job entails care, cleaning and maintenance of the aviaries. It is a messy job and you must love birds! (Daily or weekly)
Trail Maintenance: Cut back overgrown vegetation, remove fallen branches, create and maintain erosion controls as needed. This is one of our most physical and active jobs. (Anytime, on your own or on scheduled work days).
Invasive Plant Removal: remove garlic mustard and other invasive plants from select areas anytime the ground is thawed. (Anytime, on your own or on scheduled work days).
Weekend Greeter: Open the lodge to visitors, handout trail maps, answer the phones, register people for programs, sell stewardship’s and gift shop items. Reliable people with a friendly smile are needed. (Weekends for three-hour shifts; Sat. 9-12 or 12-3 and Sun 9-12).
Website: Proofread the EMNC website and correct grammar and typos. Update website as needed. Knowledge of HTML helpful, volunteer be able to upload corrected files, and have a good command of the English Language. (Your own hours from your home)
Committee members: We are always looking for diverse members of our community who want to serve our mission. Help plan and create exhibits for the lodge (exhibit committee), develop program ideas, identify and contact possible presenters, and set the public program schedule for the upcoming months. Join us on Development, Membership, Finance, or Special Events.(Committees meet regularly at the convenience of its members).
Groups & Projects: We welcome corporate teams, Scouts, schools, and other groups looking to volunteer and help the environment. Group projects can include trail maintenance, invasive plant removal, litter clean-ups, garden work, building bat boxes, and many more. We’re open to ideas!
